Terms of Service

Ormy · Version 2.4 · Effective 24 September 2026

Changed in 2.4: Ormy no longer has a free version. Every plan gives full access, and a subscription is needed to keep using Ormy once any trial ends (section 8.1).

Changed in 2.3: section 6 described a chat feature that has been removed. It now says what the AI is actually used for — one question in a heads-up, a suggested next step when you tick something off, and the wording of a reminder it offers to make for you — and that Anthropic receives only the reminder’s title.

The short version

This summary is here to be read. It is not a substitute for the terms below, which are what actually applies.

1. Who we are

Kyle Ormesher, a sole trader established in the Isle of Man, trading as Ormy.

Contact: kyle.orm@turbolt.co.uk — read by a person, not a ticketing system.

A postal address is available on request, and is published on the App Store listing where the law requires it.

In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Kyle Ormesher, trading as Ormy. "You" and "your" mean the person using Ormy. "Ormy" or "the app" means the Ormy mobile application, the notifications it sends, and any related websites or services we operate.

2. These terms are a contract

By creating an account, or by continuing to use Ormy, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use Ormy — and if you have already started, you can delete your account from Settings at any time.

Our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy form part of these terms. Where a conflict arises, the Privacy Policy governs how we handle your data and the Refund Policy governs refunds; these terms govern everything else.

3. Who can use Ormy

You must be at least 16 years old to create an Ormy account and agree to these terms on your own behalf. If you are between 13 and 15, you may use Ormy only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the app.

Ormy is not designed or intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to create an account. If we learn that we hold data belonging to a child under 13, we will delete it.

You must have the legal capacity to enter into a contract, and you must not be barred from using the app under the laws of the country you are in.

4. What Ormy is

Ormy is a proactive reminder assistant. You tell it about things you need to remember — appointments, birthdays, medication, bin day, deadlines — and it stores them and sends you notifications, nudges and heads-ups so they are less likely to be forgotten.

If you switch AI on, Ormy uses artificial intelligence to ask a question in the heads-ups it sends you and to suggest a next step when you tick a reminder off. That wording is AI-generated, which means it will not always be perfect. The times, dates and details of your reminders are not invented by AI — they are exactly what you set.

5. What Ormy is not — please read this

Ormy is a helpful assistant. It is not a safety-critical system, and you must not treat it as one.

Do not rely on Ormy as your only safeguard for anything affecting your health, safety, money, legal position or livelihood. That includes — but is not limited to — medication doses, hospital and clinic appointments, court and tribunal dates, visa and immigration deadlines, insurance renewals, tax filings, exam dates, childcare and school pick-ups, and travel departures.

Anything in that category should always have a second, independent safeguard — a calendar alarm, a paper note, a person, a pill organiser. Ormy is designed to be the reminder that reaches you, not the only one that exists.

5.1 Notifications can fail

Ormy delivers reminders through your device's operating system and through third-party push notification infrastructure. A reminder can be delayed, delivered silently, or not delivered at all, for reasons entirely outside our control. These include, without limitation:

We work hard to make delivery reliable, and we will keep improving it. We do not and cannot promise that any individual notification will arrive, or arrive on time.

5.2 Alarm escalation is a last resort, not a guarantee

On devices and operating system versions that support it, and where Apple has granted us the necessary entitlement, Ormy may be able to escalate an unattended reminder into a full system alarm. This feature is not currently enabled, is not available on every device, and is subject to all of the same limits set out in clause 5.1. It is an extra layer we may add, not a promise.

5.3 Ormy is not a medical device

Ormy is a general-purpose organisational tool. It is not a medical device, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, manage or prevent any disease, condition, injury or disability, including ADHD and autism. Nothing Ormy says is medical advice.

Ormy may remind you to take medication if you ask it to. It does not check dosages, interactions, contraindications or timing, it has no knowledge of your medical history, and it must never be used as a medication management system. Always follow the instructions given to you by your doctor, pharmacist or other healthcare professional, and speak to them — not to Ormy — about anything to do with your treatment.

5.4 Ormy does not give professional advice

Nothing Ormy tells you is medical, legal, financial, tax, psychological or other professional advice, and it must not be relied on as such. Ormy is not a therapist, a counsellor, a crisis service or a substitute for human support. If you are in crisis or at risk of harm, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline.

6. Artificial intelligence and its limits

Ormy is powered by large language models supplied by Anthropic. You should understand the following before relying on anything it produces:

The AI is used in three places, and only if you have said yes to it: the one question in a heads-up before something coming up, the next step offered when you tick a reminder off, and the wording of a reminder Ormy offers to make you from either. For all three, Anthropic receives only the title of the reminder involved, plus how many days away it is for a heads-up. It never receives your name, your location or the places you pin, and the reminders you write yourself are never sent to be reworded. You can switch the AI off at any time in Settings → AI wording, and Ormy uses plain wording instead. Under our agreement with Anthropic, your content is not used to train their models. See the Privacy Policy and the sub-processor list for the detail.

7. Your account

You need an account to use Ormy. Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk, including where you choose to sign in with Apple.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. This is permanent, it cannot be undone, and what happens to your data is set out in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — see clause 8.6.

8. Subscriptions, free trials and billing

8.1 Subscription required

Ormy is a paid, auto-renewing subscription service. There is no free version to keep using after a trial ends — every plan gives full access to the app, and a subscription is required to keep using Ormy once any trial period is over. What each plan includes, and the length of any trial on offer, is shown in the app at the point you subscribe.

8.2 Prices

The price, billing period and currency of each plan are shown in the app and on the App Store before you confirm your purchase. Those displayed figures are the ones that apply to your purchase. We deliberately do not restate prices in this document, because prices vary by country and change over time, and a stale figure here would be misleading.

8.3 Free trials

Where a free trial is offered, its length is stated in the app at the point of purchase. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts automatically and your payment method is charged. Apple may begin the renewal process up to 24 hours before the trial period ends, so cancel at least a day before to be certain you are not charged. Free trials are limited to one per person, and Apple may refuse a trial to an Apple ID that has already had one.

8.4 Automatic renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, and continue to do so until cancelled. Renewal is charged to your Apple ID within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

8.5 Price changes

We may change the price of a subscription. If we do, we will give you notice before the change takes effect, in the manner Apple requires, and the new price will only apply from your next renewal. You can cancel before then if you do not want to continue. Apple will also seek your consent where its rules require it.

8.6 Cancelling

Purchases made inside the app are handled by Apple, and cancellation happens through Apple, not through us. Go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Deleting the Ormy app, or deleting your Ormy account, does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel through Apple as described above, or you will continue to be billed.

8.7 Refunds

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which also explains the cancellation rights you have as a consumer in the UK and EU.

8.8 Fair use of "unlimited" features

Where a plan is described as offering unlimited use of an AI-powered feature, “unlimited” means unlimited normal personal use. Every AI request costs us money to process, so we apply a generous daily ceiling per account, set well above what any ordinary user reaches, purely to stop runaway or automated usage. We may adjust that ceiling, and if we ever set it low enough to affect ordinary use we will tell you first. Automated, scripted or bulk use is not fair use, and is dealt with under clause 9. Because some of Ormy’s messages are worded by an AI provider, a failure or outage at that provider can delay or prevent an individual message being sent — see clause 5.1.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We would rather fix a problem than close an account. If you have found a security issue, please tell us at kyle.orm@turbolt.co.uk rather than exploiting it — we will not pursue anyone who reports a vulnerability responsibly and in good faith, and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it.

10. Your content

Everything you put into Ormy — your reminders and your messages — is yours. We claim no ownership of it.

To run the service, we need your permission to handle it. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit, display and process your content solely for the purposes of operating Ormy for you: storing your reminders, sending your notifications, generating AI responses, keeping backups, and providing support when you ask for it. This licence is limited to those purposes, it is not transferable except to a successor under clause 22.3, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not sell your content. We do not use it to train AI models, and neither does Anthropic. We do not use it for advertising.

If you send us feedback, bug reports or suggestions, we may use them freely to improve Ormy without owing you anything for them. When your account is deleted, feedback you have sent is stripped of your name, email address and account identifier so the report survives but the link to you does not.

11. Our intellectual property

Ormy — the app, its name, its logo, its design, its copy, its underlying software and everything else we have made — belongs to us or our licensors, and is protected by intellectual property law.

We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to install and use one copy of the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and the App Store's usage rules. That is the whole of the licence. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, decompile or reverse-engineer any part of Ormy, except to the limited extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.

12. Availability, changes and support

We want Ormy to be there when you need it, but it is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not promise any particular level of uptime, and there is no service level agreement attached to a consumer subscription.

We may change, add to, or remove features as the product develops. Where we remove or materially reduce a significant feature you are paying for, we will give you reasonable notice, and if the change substantially disadvantages you, you may cancel and — where the law entitles you to one — receive a proportionate refund for the unused part of your period.

We may need to suspend the service temporarily for maintenance, upgrades, or to deal with a security or technical problem. We will keep that to a minimum and, where it is planned and significant, we will try to give notice.

Support is by email at kyle.orm@turbolt.co.uk or through the feedback option in Settings. We aim to reply within five working days. Ormy is run by a very small team, so please be patient with us.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Ormy at any time, and delete your account from Settings.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use presents a genuine risk to the service, to us, or to other users. Except where the breach is serious, unlawful, or makes advance warning inappropriate, we will tell you what the problem is and give you a fair opportunity to put it right first.

If we terminate your account other than for your breach, we will refund the unused portion of any subscription period you have paid for, to the extent we are able to do so through Apple.

On termination: your licence to use Ormy ends, and your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. Clauses 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20 and 22 survive termination.

14. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and without affecting clause 17 (your statutory rights), Ormy is provided "as is" and "as available", and we exclude all implied warranties, conditions and terms — including implied terms as to satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement.

In particular, and without limiting clause 5, we do not warrant that: the app will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free; that any specific notification will be delivered or delivered on time; that AI output will be accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose; or that defects will be corrected.

15. Limitation of liability

Please read this clause carefully — it limits what we can be held liable for.

15.1 What we never limit. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including your non-excludable rights as a consumer under the laws of your own country.

15.2 Losses we are not liable for. Subject to clause 15.1, we are not liable for any indirect, special, incidental, punitive or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings, data, or reputation, however caused.

15.3 Missed reminders. Subject to clause 15.1, and given the express warnings in clause 5, we are not liable for any loss you suffer as a result of a reminder that was delayed, delivered late, delivered silently, or not delivered at all — including a missed appointment, a missed dose, a missed deadline, a late payment, a penalty, a fine, or a lost opportunity. This is the reason clause 5 asks you always to keep a second safeguard for anything important.

15.4 Overall cap. Subject to clause 15.1, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or in connection with Ormy, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, is limited in aggregate to the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid us for Ormy in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim; or (b) one hundred pounds sterling (£100).

15.5 Foreseeability. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

15.6 Consumer use only. Ormy is supplied for personal use. If you use it for any commercial or business purpose, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

16. Indemnity

If you use Ormy in breach of clause 9 (acceptable use) and that causes a third party to bring a claim against us, you agree to reimburse us for the losses, damages and reasonable costs we incur as a result. This applies only to claims caused by your own breach, only to the extent the claim was actually caused by it, and it does not apply where you have acted in good faith and in the ordinary course of using the app as intended.

17. Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms cannot take away.

In the United Kingdom, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and services must be performed with reasonable care and skill. Nothing here affects those rights, and if any clause in these terms conflicts with them, your statutory rights win. Detailed guidance is available from Citizens Advice.

If you live in the European Economic Area, you have equivalent rights under your own national consumer law, and nothing in these terms removes them. You may also be entitled to use the ODR platform or a local alternative dispute resolution body.

18. Apple App Store terms

These terms apply in addition to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Where you obtained Ormy through the Apple App Store, the following also applies, and you acknowledge and agree to it:

  1. Not with Apple. These terms are between you and us only, not between you and Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Ormy and its content.
  2. Scope of licence. Your licence to use Ormy is a non-transferable licence to use it on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, save that it may be accessed by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  3. Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for Ormy. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services.
  4. Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they have not been effectively disclaimed. If Ormy fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Ormy, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are our sole responsibility.
  5. Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Ormy or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that Ormy fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
  6. Intellectual property claims. If a third party claims that Ormy or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we — not Apple — are solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Ormy.
  9. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and upon your acceptance of them Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
  10. Contact. Questions, complaints and claims about Ormy should be directed to us using the details in clause 1.

19. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Ormy develops or as the law requires. The version in force is always the one published here, with its effective date at the top.

If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give you at least 14 days' notice in the app or by email before it takes effect, and tell you plainly what changed. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel your subscription and delete your account before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ormy after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

Minor changes — fixing a typo, clarifying wording, adding a new contact address — take effect when published.

20. Governing law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or with Ormy, are governed by the law of the Isle of Man. The courts of the Isle of Man have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country.

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us — most problems can be sorted out quickly by email, and we would always rather do that.

21. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email kyle.orm@turbolt.co.uk with the word "Complaint" in the subject line. We will acknowledge within five working days and aim to give you a substantive answer within 30 days.

Complaints specifically about how we have handled your personal data can also be taken to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or to your local data protection authority — see the Privacy Policy.

22. General

22.1 Whole agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between us about Ormy, and replace anything said or written before. This does not limit your rights in respect of any statement we made fraudulently.

22.2 Severability. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

22.3 Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. We may transfer ours to a company that acquires our business, provided your rights under these terms are not reduced. We will tell you if that happens.

22.4 No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, that does not mean we have given it up.

22.5 Third parties. Other than Apple under clause 18, nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

22.6 Events outside our control. We are not liable for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at Apple, Google, Anthropic, Clerk, Convex or Expo, internet or telecommunications failures, and acts of government.
